  7. clutch.  Comprised
  8. of ball bearings
  9. mounted in a sleeve
  10. or collar, the
  11. throw-out bearing
  12. slides back and
  13. forth on the shaft
  14. extending from the
  15. front of the
  16. transmission. 
  17. Pressing the clutch
  18. pedal moves a fork
  19. holding the
  20. throw-out bearing. 
  21. The bearing slides
  22. against the
  23. pressure plate
  24. release levers
  25. which pry the
  26. pressure plate away
  27. from the clutch
  28. disc.  Holding the
  29. pressure plate away
  30. from the clutch
  31. disc disconnects
  32. the engine from the
  33. rest of the power
  34. train and the
  35. vehicle may be
  36. brought to a stop
  37. with the engine
  38. running.
